Creating your own brand doesn’t have to be as hard as some marketing experts make it seem.

Find Your Brand Voice
When you think about a particular family member or friend, are there a few traits that come to mind?
That’s pretty much how a brand voice works.
Your brand voice is your business’s personality traits. It is the way that your marketing content “speaks” to your target audience.
Creating a brand voice for your business venture makes your marketing content so much more consistent.
It becomes easier to market your business when you know the specific words you would or would not use.
And creating your brand voice is something that we all can do.
It starts with a little research. You want to think about your target audience. What age range are they in? What do they do? Are they people of leisure or people on the go? What are their pain points?
These are things that you can think about whether you have current customers or not.
The more you can think about what your target audience looks like, the more you can think about how your brand can cater to their needs.
Think About Your Communication Style
Next, you want to think about how you’re going to communicate to your target audience.
You can’t be everything to everyone. That is the easiest way for your business venture to get ignored.
You want to think about the right words or “personality traits” that will guide the marketing content you produce.
For example, some of the words you could use to describe your brand voice are “rebellious”, “fun”, “unique”, “relatable”, or “trustworthy.”
The words you would use to describe your brand voice will be used to help with your communication style.
If your brand voice is “playful”, for example, you don’t want to write blog posts in a tone that is serious or informative.
Create Your Brand Story
Another fun activity you can do is create your brand story.
A brand story combines the introduction of your brand with great storytelling. You can use a brand story to relate to your target audience and share with them your business venture’s origins.
Brand stories are a great way to share your business venture’s beginnings, goals, and mission. Everyone loves to hear a great story, and having the chance to share why you’ve gotten started in your business venture and how you plan on helping your customers is an added benefit.
With your brand story, you can literally share with your customers or clients how you will solve their problem. Every story has the same elements: a beginning, a conflict, a resolution, and a “happy ending.”
You can share a personal testimony on why you started your business venture and how your product or service is going to solve your clients’ problems and give them the resolution they are looking for.
Think About The Look Of Your Brand
After you’ve thought about the words associated with your brand, you can think about the other characteristics of your brand like a logo and colors.
Your business venture’s colors and logo help your audience pinpoint you amongst the crowd.
Just like the words that you use to establish your brand voice, the colors that you choose will send a message to your customers or clients. The right hues can make your customers or clients feel welcoming and right at home.
And creating the right logo for your business venture can have the same impact. When creating your logo, you want to make sure that it is simple and meaningful.
Establishing your brand is easy. You just have to be as authentic as possible.
Think about your brand as another extension of your personality because that is what it is.
You just want to be yourself, show your genuine personality, and get creative in sharing it with your target audience.
